The Trustees of the charity citizenAID wish a full and rapid recovery to all those injured during the knife attack on the train in Cambridgeshire on 1 November. We recognise that prompt action by rail staff and passengers reduced the potential for a worse outcome in the most challenging of circumstances, while all feared for their safety.
The charity was founded in 2017 on the principle of offering public resilience to a deliberate attack, including knife injuries, through education and training. Improvising treatment for multiple patients with bleeding wounds, once in a place of safety and having called for help, is what citizenAID was designed to support. The charity empowers the general public with knowledge, practical skills and confidence that may save lives while waiting for skilled medical help from the emergency services, whether or not you have previous first aid experience and whether or not you have first aid equipment. For more information and free training opportunities, download the citizenAID free app or visit www.citizenaid.org.
Be prepared not scared, you can save lives.
