In the first 6 months of 2025, citizenAID, a UK-based charity, has trained 8,000 people in Stop The Bleed techniques. This training is part of a broader effort to build public resilience and empower individuals to react effectively if caught up in emergencies where there is life-threatening injury.
Training Focus:
The citizenAID Stop The Bleed campaign teaches individuals how to recognise life-threatening bleeding and how to use techniques like direct pressure, wound packing, and tourniquets to control bleeding while waiting for emergency assistance.
Public Empowerment:
The campaign aims to empower bystanders from school age through adulthood who are at the point of injury, with the knowledge and time-critical skills to potentially save lives.
Train The Trainer
citizenAID in conjunction with the West Midlands Ambulance Service has run a number of Train The Trainer events across the Midlands during 2024 and 2025, which have been repeated in other parts of the country.
