The material utilises the story of an intruder who starts shooting in the school.

 

There is careful use of pictures and questioning to guide the learning.

Content

 

There are 4 key messages:

​

1. Schools are safe places. Where we live is a safe country.

​

2. In the unlikely event that students have to face a threat, in school or out of school, there are simple steps to take to help keep yourself and others safe, and to help those who are hurt.

​

3. If there is an immediate threat—run, hide and tell

​

4. When it is safe to do so, help treat the injured (treat)

​
